Welcome back to Kovolution
On a weekend filled with warm spring sunshine, I heard that Yeouido Hangang Park had transformed into a giant outdoor library, so I rushed over to the opening ceremony! This is the '2026 Reading Hangang Park' event.I thought it would just be a quiet place to read, but I was so surprised to find it packed with awesome playgrounds for kids and hip relaxation spots! It was the absolute best place to bring the kids on a beautiful day. Let me show you around!
๐ 2026 Reading Hangang Park Opening!
Location: Multi-Plaza area, Yeouido Hangang Park
When: April,10th ~ May, 23rd, 2026
☁️ 'Water-Gazing + Book-Gazing' on Beanbag Sofas
The very first thing that catches your eye when you enter the festival grounds are the colorful beanbag sofas!
They are laid out all across the green lawn. If you practically lie down on one of these, feeling the Han River breeze while reading a book... it genuinely feels like paradise! Books that were so hard to read at home suddenly become page-turners here—it's magic! There are also reading tables scattered around, making it a great spot for families to gather comfortably and spend time together.
๐ฎ Kids' Favorites: 'PlayStation Zone & Blue Marble'
This area is the ultimate cheat code of the festival! For the kids who might get bored just reading, there are incredible play spaces set up.
PlayStation Experience Zone: Playing video games outdoors?! It was explosively popular, with kids completely glued to the screens and lining up to play. You can enjoy the games inside a comfortable, breezy tent, and it was pretty funny to see dads sneaking in to join the fun too!
Giant Blue Marble & Board Games: Enjoying the nostalgic 'Blue Marble' (Korean Monopoly) right on the grass! It was so heartwarming to see families splitting into teams and playing together.
You also can't miss the Balloon Zone, featuring giant balloon installations that you can spot from far away!
It is filled with cute character balloons, making it the perfect spot to snap photos of the kids. It was full of joy as they touched and played with the balloons! This flashy space really upgraded the whole festival atmosphere.
๐ Final Verdict
"On a beautiful day, could there be a better place to bring the kids?"
This event perfectly balances the quiet, static atmosphere of reading with dynamic, exciting spaces where kids can run around and play. ใ ใ Relax and heal on a reading sofa, and when you get a little bored, go play a round of PlayStation or Blue Marble! It is the ultimate weekend outing course that will satisfy the entire family.
It runs all the way through May, so instead of a regular picnic mat, how about heading to Yeouido this weekend where comfy beanbag sofas are waiting for you?
